We can examine the past and
organize the present.
The future is ours to design.

Given the intense experiences throughout the COVID pandemic, it's no wonder that event professionals find themselves hitting roadblocks and feeling paralyzed to move beyond the crisis.

In this course, using empathy, the event canvas, and other event design principles, we will design our way out of our COVID coma. By simulating an event design experience, Event Professionals will describe their "entering behavior (their current circumstances)," their desired "exiting behavior (dreams and goals)," and what actions are needed to elicit the desired change.

Throughout the event design process, the challenge is to be empathic. An essential ability to be successful in event design is to see and dissect the different experiences and outlooks of stakeholders and to anticipate and influence how a single individual changes their perspective over time.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how to conduct a past-present-future analysis
  • Determine the critical path needed to go from a stakeholder's current behavior to the desired new behavior.
  • Become familiar with Event Design tools such as empathy, the event canvas, and change management.
